This left turning lane is very long and gets backed up in the evenings when several people are getting off of work. (around 4pm-7pm) Several drivers are trying to turn left onto Highway 17 off of Chatham Parkway and many of them will sit in the straight lane and wait until they are able to merge into the turn lane. If the city of Savannah is able they should have two turn lanes for the traffic to turn left. This wouldn't create such a traffic jam in the evenings when your trying to get home from a long days work.
