We went to our new and improved Hawthorne park/water park where we found 3-4 people at a time going into the women's bathroom. (The only one in the park) right near the water and play ground. At that time a total of 3 different people called medford police to report the drug/prostitution going on in a bathroom that several women and children were needing to use. After over 45 minutes the police finally arrived just as they walked out of the bathroom. One man (the one we believe had most of the drugs) just walked away like no big deal as the police officer watched him and did not follow. Shortly after we watched him walk down the trail slowly emptying his backpack of what we believe to be the drugs. The others did end up going to jail but we could not believe they just watched the one guy walk away as we all pointed him out. Reminder that they didn't even show up for over 45 minutes. The people were in the bathroom that whole time doing whatever it was while men, women and lots of children were right there. Just sad to see that all of us let them know there was a problem and still it took that long. Just make's me sick as a tax payer. We need to put a stop to these kinds of things happening where we are playing with our children or take the park away.
