If you followed this website, and viewed the complaints about sidewalk parking over the years, you should be aware the police are not at all concerned with public safety when it comes to vehicles blocking the sidewalk.

You may see the occasional article in the Stoneham Independent police report, of a car being ticketed for parking on the sidewalk. But driving around town on a daily basis, you will see dozens of cars in plain view completely blocking the sidewalk. Many of these are the same car day after day. Obviously these residents know that the police do not take this issue seriously and will continue to do it.

It appears that the police will take no action on their own to enforce this law. You can't even get them to enforce it with multiple calls.

If the police stepped up and started addressing this issue, do you think you would still see so many vehicles illegally art on sidewalks?

Save yourself the frustration and give it up. That's pretty much what the police department is hoping you'll do.
