Description
According to the Bike Parking Map (http://www.cambridgema.gov/CDD/Transportation/gettingaroundcambridge/bybike/Parking/bikeparkingmap) of Cambridge there are three bike racks near 170 Gore St. However, only one bike rack exists and it is clogged by two abandoned bikes that have been there for several months now (see image) one of which has a bent handlebar and one of which has had a flat tire for months. It would be great if the municipality could restore the original parking racks (and maybe even add some more). The 170 Gore St community is in dire need for parking spots. :-(

Thanks for your request! We will evaluate this location within the next few weeks and post updates here.
Regarding the abandoned bikes - please put in a separate SeeClickFix under the request type "Abandoned Bicycle" and your request will be routed to the appropriate person in Public Works.
Thanks for the tip about the map too. It is based on satellite photos and does not always catch when a rack is removed.
Please note that sites for bike racks can be limited on narrow sidewalks due to the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirement that a sufficient walkway be left open for people with disabilities.

Thank you for the prompt answer! I don't know why a second bike rack close to the one currently clogged was removed, but you can still see it in Google Maps (it was removed between 2007 and 2011): https://www.google.com/maps/@42.3729044,-71.0860516,3a,75y,217.5h,70.37t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sywJBQIva3396cMHm1WIQBA!2e0!5s20070701T000000!7i3328!8i1664
Since 2012 bicycle usage around 170 Gore St has gone up, and I often see bikes parked to poles as racks have not been available for quite some time. Thank you!
