Waste is not out when it is supposed to be.
Not sure if construction debris is an Advanced Disposal responsibility.

Will be clarified further if/when the city enforces the rules with a ticket and a detailed explanation.

As per Advanced's website, yard waste can only be in a can or paper bags. They will not pick up yard waste that is in plastic bags. This issue was reported mainly because items were placed at the curb a week too early. Per Detroit ordinance:
Yard/Trash Waste - "all Courville containers must be placed by the owner(s), lessee(s), agent(s) or caretaker(s) at the curb or designated location no sooner than 6:00 p.m. on the day prior to the scheduled solid waste collection day for access by Department of Public Works' solid waste collection trucks and shall be removed no later than 9:00 p.m. on the day of collection."
Bulk Waste - "Bulk solid waste shall be placed in a location convenient at the curb in front of the residential structure or commercial establishment to which an approved container has been assigned, that is convenient for collection, no more than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the day designated for bulk collection."
This information has been shared with residents by the neighborhood association many times.

Thank you for the clear communication. I am not interested in continuing a conversation over ClickFix about this, so I'll let this be my last comment. I do not agree with us critiquing our neighbors or asking for tickets to be issues until there is better communication. If we are passionate enough about this subject then I would suggest that someone comes by and discusses this with our neighbors whose items are left out. The city does enough ticketing without proper notification.
Here's my experience. I requested a bulk pickup item be removed, using the only information I found available on the Advance Disposal website (I can find no calendar on their site with bulk pickup days). I was never contacted in response to my request. So, I ended up being able to take it to a friend's dumpster.
Here's the reality. These items have been there for some time. Using a calendar a neighbor made with the bulk pick up days (which a company we are paying money to should have been able to make and post on their website themselves), May 19th should have been a bulk pick up day. I know this house and those items have been there since before May 19th.
What is a neighbor to do? We have no clear communication on dates of pick up from Advance Disposal that can be accessed easily, I don't know what you would recommend these neighbors of ours to do. Without clear communication it would seem the only solution would be to leave the items out hoping they will be picked up in two weeks with the next bulk pick up date whenever that is.
In summary, I see total responsibility with Advance Disposal. If the city wants to issue a ticket, than I'd take issue with them. And, if the Association is somehow responsible for disseminating information (which I don't think they are or should be) clear and direct communication with individuals should be our standard.
Until then, please stop criticizing our neighbors and take this issue to the company being paid to take care of it for us.
