I agree, this section of road is becoming very dangerous, due to the condition of the road surface.

This section of Alvarado Road is in Oakland and is the responsibility of Oakland (NOT Berkeley). Please take responsibility for this serious issue and respond appropriately.

This may have a Berkeley mailing address, but it's in Oakland's City limits.

This section of road has a Berkeley mailing address but is in Oakland.
Besides potholes, vehicles can't use the full width of the road because of dirt slides onto pavement in some areas, erosion of asphalt on edges at other places. Combined with the curves and worn striping this is very dangerous.

I agree. This part of Alvarado is extremely dangerous. The road is very narrow and even narrower because you cannot use the whole road for fear of going into a deep rut along the edge of the road. This should be a high priority

The areas referenced in this request are hazardous, particularly lower Alvarado where it connects with Claremont. The road is very narrow and the edges of the road have given way in places making it a crash hazard given the choice of going off the road or veering slightly into the opposite lane. Much of Alvarado is in great need of replacing with the exception of the portion that was in Berkeley.

Come on, Oakland! Berkeley has done their part on this road. It is time for Oakland to take care of their roads in the Claremont hills.

Thanks to the person who reported the need for repavement of lower Alvarado where it connects to Claremont as the roadway is in terrible shape. This road has continuous traffic and has been damaged by the heavy trucks that go up and down it constantly with continuing development in the hills. It has become a hazard because drivers are forced to avoid the potholes which means they go into the other lane when necessary. Marlborough from Norfolk to Grizzly is also in serious need of repair as the same hazardous road conditions exist.

I agree that this road is a hazard.
Do not understand why City of Oakland Public Works does know know the city boundries.

Referring this issue to BERKELEY PUBLIC WORKS is in error. This section of Alvarado Rd is located in the City of Oakland and OAKLAND PUBLIC WORKS is responsible for its upkeep and maintenance. All homes located along this section of Alvarado Rd pay property taxes to the City of Oakland. The City of Berkeley is NOT responsible for this work.

It's because the mailing address (which is Berkeley) was used for the problem location. The person in OPW probably didn't know about that and didn't think to check.

No response from Oakland acknowledging that they know where there city limits really are... that's disappointing...

When I initiated this issue using the SeeClickFix App I used the map associated with SeeClickFix to identify the issue location. The App automatically assigned the Berkeley mailing address although the issue is located in Oakland. My suspicion is that the App is set up wrong.....you guessed it.

Nothing has been done. Reported the issue 121days ago. When will we see some action by the City of Oakland?

Nothing has been done. The pot hole blitz announced by the Mayor Libby Schaaf did not happen . The road has further deteriorated. Stripping has totally disappeared in several locations, waiting for an accident to happen.

Very sad indeed. This is one of the worst stretches of Alvarado rd and an accident waiting to happen. As a major ingress and egress for many this is unconscionable.

This request to Oakland Public Works has been made almost a year ago. Nothing has been done and nothing is scheduled on their street map repair website. This is pathetic. Mayor Libby Schaff, at a recent meeting, agreed that the streets in Oakland are below 3rd world country standards but has offered no solution. I was recently in Vietnam and Cambodia, streets are better there than here in Oakland......

Today, 6/13/2018 it has been 751 days since this issue has been reported. Nothing has been done.

They still think it is Berkeley

Oakland Public Works needs to address this soon as possible as it's a serious road hazard for cars and bicycles.

This issue has been outstanding for 2021 days. Nothing has been done to improve the safety of this road. And, the Oakland DOT repaving plan dated 2/19/2018 does not include this road looking forward for 3 year in the future. This is a tragedy.

Last week, this section of Alvarado Rd was paved.
