I agree; these two intersections have been problem areas for years. I always stare down drivers and insist on taking my right-of-way as a pedestrian, but this is not a particularly safe or satisfactory strategy. Some unexpected showings of police presence might go a long way to getting drivers here more under control.

This continues to be a problem. Just last week I was crossing (as a pedestrian) at the corner of Conrad and Ray long before a vehicle on Ray was at the intersection, and I had to jump out of the way when it went straight through. Many people do some version of the "slow and go" approach to stopping at these corners, but many just simply go straight through. I wish I could say this was the only time this has happened to me at this intersection.
