Porch is deteriorating day by day- massive crack in the middle beneath 2nd floor porch... it will fall down and no one is doing anything about this.

On 6/20 the city issued this property owner a 5 notice to abate the disgusting overgrowth in the front yard. On Saturday morning 6/24, I was awoken to the sound of a lawnmower at 7:45am. The owner of this property, Joboy Joseph, sent one of his employees (Joseph owns several rental properties), to mow the lawn before 8am on a Saturday morning- just in time to avoid a fine from the city. He has no respect for this neighborhood, its homeowners or residents. The house is now marked with a ghastly red X, the foundation continues to deteriorate- breaking off in large chunks- and the front porch will collapse due to weather damage. PLEASE someone from the city- it is unconscionable to allow this person to continue this wilful neglect. He owns other properties and most recently purchased a parcel from the Albany County Land Bank for $10,000 in May! How is this allowed to happen??! Why must our block suffer because of this slumlord?

I will be doing a reinspection of the property today to see if there are any more violations. I will do my best to help you.

Has there been an update on this issue? Since the June notice was posted, the owner of this property has not been by to mow once. Should the city be spending valuable time posting violations to this building every time the grass needs mowing? The Land Bank should be ashamed of itself for selling this owner another property in the city!
