Deskripsyon

There are no streetlamps on Bryant Street in between 2nd and 3rd Streets. This block is home to the Lamplighters Music Theatre company, start-ups and other small businesses, as well as frequent car vandalism. Having insufficient lighting is dangerous to person and property. It is outrageous that the city is planning on extending the parking meters in this area to 10pm and yet has not provided sufficient lighting. Please address this problem. Thank you.

This needs to be addressed ASAP. My husband was mugged at gunpoint at this location, there is NO visibility, and the break-ins and other vandalism and assaults have been a problem for years.

My car was broken into - side window glass smashed - and my car radio stolen on Bryant in this block. I have many friends who have experienced the same problem. One witnessed a break-in last week. It is pitch black at night. Yet there are street lights one block away. There are new businesses up and down the street - PeopleBrowser, among them - and AT&T Park around the corner. Let there be light!

Car vandalism along this block has been an ongoing problem; in recent months it has been getting worse and worse, and the sidewalk is covered with broken glass from car windows every day. It's become a huge problem.

The nature of businesses in this particular block-- a theater company with regular nighttime rehearsals and many start-ups with employees working late into the night --necessitate at the very least adequate lighting. It is outrageous that the city has neglected this particular block in this thriving area of town.

Although the Lamplighters Music Theater company rehearses on this block of Bryant street, there are not actual lamps lighting up that street. Several cars have been broken into over my several years of working there, and company members have had problems with unsavory people in the dark on this block, as well. (See above comment by Kelceyjay). Please do something about this!!!!!

My car was broken into in this block of Bryant Street 3 weeks ago, costing me much heartache, time, and money that I could not really afford at this point in my life. As mentioned in the other comments in this thread - all of whom are friends - too much of this goes on, and it has been a problem of many years standing. I can remember several incidents going back as far as 2004. PLEASE give us some lights!

There are car break-ins every day and the area gets tagged constantly. Not to mention the muggings. It is getting worse. Adequate lighting will help.

It is simply ridiculous, and so dangerous. It almost seems like there could be a racket behind it. Who can we contact at city hall? Or perhaps we need to go to the media. Matier and Ross, perhaps?

I routinely request that all of our costume shop volunteers leave when it is still light out if they are walking alone to BART. I am also hesitant to have volunteers in the evening hours due to the personal danger of walking in the area, and also the danger to their property if they drive in

Street lights badly needed on this block. Perhaps better patrolling by police as well? The meter maids are always out in full force, but I can't remember ever seeing a beat cop in the six or seven years the Lamplighters have been at this location.

I would like to confirm that this block has been a hot-bed of car break ins. There is a community here who has made a concerted effort to avoid this steady stream of crime by raising awareness and and yet it not only persists but grows each month.

I have to go to rehearsal in the evenings on Bryant Street, and sometimes I do not have an escort back to my car. Lights would help keep me and all my fellow rehearsalees safe. And I would love to not have my car broken into..again!

My car was broken into - a small window was smashed through (their attempt to open the door) and a rear passenger window (the tinting kept the glass from breaking through) - luckily nothing was stolen due to the safety features of my car. I was parked in front of one of the few lit areas on Bryant thinking it would be safe. Has anyone contacted the District Supervisor? This is a constant problem in the area.

I contacted the district supervisor and the police. Neither were interested. If you overrun your meter by 30 seconds however.... in fact we saw a meter "cop" give a ticket to someone with a smashed window. How mean is that?!

This is a huge problem. Last year, my Jeep side window was shattered and personal items were stolen from the back storage area.

Came out after a meeting, and every car parked on the street had a smashed sidewalk side window. This stretch needs light! And police surveillance. But let's start with lights.
