Description
These street lights on the S. side of 7th St., just W. of Hudson have been out for a year at the least. The corner is shared by many successful and growing small businesses that operate or have functions into the evening. Going North, more lights to either side of Hudson are also dark.

Sid,
Word is that OG&E has responsibility for these particular lights, not Oklahoma City. I called OG&E about them last September when it wasn't just lights on streets to the West of the Federal Building, but all the street lights surrounding the Federal Building as well. (Can you believe the Federal Building's street lights were out? Crazy.)
Well they rushed right out & fixed the ones around the Fed, but none of the others. More calls to OG&E over the following months got the lights at 10th & Hudson fixed (the 4 ringing the intersection were out), but none of the others. I did make mention in every single call that nearly all the lights in SE Midtown were out.
Since the 10th St. intersection was repaired, there's been no activity. We still wait...

I am familiar with this kind of situation. Here lies the issue with long franchise agreements void of service requirements. Baring acts of God, OG&E should be able to commit to providing service to street light that is burned out within a set period.
I will see what I kind find out and see if any such agreement exists. If so, it might be that we need to remind our elected officials of the agreement.
I will report back.

Breakwater,
Did these lights get fixed?

No Sid, they sure didn't. I've not heard back from OG&E in response to my requests over the phone, either. I think it's time I did some more calling.
I have to agree with you Chad. MidTown's activity level has remained high since the redevelopment of the Plaza Court bldg. & all the new businesses moving down here. I'm surprised the area's basic safety systems aren't being actively enhanced, let alone kept in simple working order.
Maybe I'm still not reaching the right people with this...

How frustrating. I just got an email from OG&E this morning stating that they were looking into using SeeClickFix for getting reports like this. However, issues already reported to them shouldn't take this long to fix?
Zach, do you have any information?

Well, according to the results I found when I searched around a bit:
Stuart Chai, P.E., stuart.chai@okc.gov, is the contact for Traffic Management, which is "responsible for maintenance of all traffic control devices including signs, pavement markings, and traffic signals". I don't know if that includes lights or not.
http://www.okc.gov/pw/trafman.html
However, he is also listed as the contact for the Traffic Commission.

I'll email Mr. Chai this page.

OG&E, would you please update us on the status of the ticket or provide us with a link where we can take a look ourselves?
Thank you.

OG&E, are we able to track the issue with work order number 900537348? I visited your website & could find no place to do so. Also, the Site Map lists nothing related to work orders. [On a side note, the Site Map doesn't contain hyperlinks at all (clickable links), as do all Site Maps I've ever visited.]
It's been over a year & work order numbers do not a street light illuminate. Please make the safety of the residents, business owners & patrons of Midtown a top priority.
Thank you.

It is possible that someone put those lights up themselves, such as other businesses. Are they on OG&E poles. Are they the decorative lights. It is also possible that someone would need to pay for those lights and they had them disconnected. If you could get an exact address to one of those lights we may be able to see if they belong to the address or owner. It is possible it is another utility provider.
Thanks
