The City of Oakland Public Works Department has received this issue. It is registered as service request #651885. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

I reported multiple pot holes on 20th - why were they merged? These potholes are serious - easily more than 6inches deep and two to four feet in length. Please check the tracks on 20th between Peralta & Campbell. Driving is often unsafe.

I appreciate the City's backlog. I do not appreciate that I have had two flat tires due to being forced into potholes as AC TRANSIT BUSSES are now also using 20th between Campbell and Peralta. I had to purchase 4 new tires last week and several weeks ago my husband needed two new tires for his car. Direct result of the gaping crators in the street which we must drive on multiple times daily. We have actually been patient for years. We were buying our own bags of hot patch for years. In the 7 years I have been here, Oakland has yet to do anything about the road literally falling apart around the tracks. The block is hazardous and soon the holes will result in an accident instead of a flat tire. I do not think it is my responsibility to chase Union Pacific Railway to take care of the street - that is up to the City to do. I do not pay taxes to Union Pacific. Please tell me where I should submit the bills for the tires.
So how come the City can replace Peralta St from end to end - including around the railroad tracks - yet the City won’t touch the tracks on 20th? I do not pay taxes to Union Pacific. The tracks have been inactive for several years. Fix 20th St.
