I recently had a few friends who have been badly injured on the greenway boardwalks when riding bicycles so thought I would post this since there were no accident reports.

The wood becomes slimy and slick when wet and it is very easy to fall when riding. Due to the shading and humidity on the trails, the wood can stay damp and slimy well after the sun comes out. Even at very low speeds I have started to loose control, especially where there are very tight turns. The problem is pervasive throughout the greenway system on the boardwalks. Has the parks department looked into a grip/tread for the boardwalks?
