When approaching Monroe on 8th, there is a sign that allows parking in the right lane of traffic very close to the intersection. As the other lane is a left turn only lane, cars parked in the right lane block the intersection. In addition, drivers are forced to break two traffic laws: crossing a solid white line to change lanes, and changing lanes within 50 feet of and intersection. There is plenty of parking behind the business that this parking serves, and it creates a hazardous situation. If it caused and accident, the city could be sued.
I have reported this to the city in the past but have never received a response.

What? Parking on Monroe Drive would be amazing.... Considering its proximity to the park, etc., it seems only fair.....

it's not on monroe, it's on 8th. while i'm all for convenient parking, it shouldn't block traffic and create a hazardous situation.

almost four years after i reported this hazardous situation, but nothing. cars still block the intersection and force drivers to illegally change lanes and drive in a turn lane to go straight.

Good morning, Eric. We see that the last request we created was closed on 10/25/2019 with notes stating they grinned up storage lane and turn arrows, and that they installed skip lines, a storage lane and 2 stopbars. We have resubmitted the matter to the city's Department of Transportation via Case Number CS0363120 to be looked into for resolution.

again, there is plenty of parking a few feet away in the cleaner's parking lot and street parking is unnecessary.
