Description

Once again, a nightclub at 310 S. West street is causing noise issues in residential neighborhoods over 0.2 miles away. Club Venu is what it's called this time around, and it operates as a BYOB (I guess because they no longer have a liquor license) after-hours nightclub. The club doesn't open until 1:30 am and goes "until" according to their Facebook page. We could hear the music in our home (with a white noise machine running) from 2:00 am to 6:00 am on Saturday, March 25. This is unacceptable and needs to stop.

Neighbors have been negatively affected by noise from this property for years, yet the city seems only able to slap temporary bandaids on the issue (all the while managing to impose noise restrictions on other downtown businesses without much trouble). A comprehensive review of the noise ordinance may be necessary to deal with businesses that repeatedly show no regard to the communities they operate within.
