Your problem at the light is coming from the fact that Auburn Rd. is under construction and the east bound lanes are closed. Auburn Rd. is only open to west bound travel, and local traffic

The problem has been ongoing since last fall and has recently been getting worse (especially bad between 5-6pm). Backed up traffic going northbound on Ryan, timing of the light, and cars turning around in the park to avoid the long lines in the left turn lane are all part of the problem. The one time that a police car sat in the park helped as the cars weren't turning around in the park entrance and traffic flowed much more smoothly.

The drivers using the park entrance to avoid the long line to turn left at the light can't turn around on the grass because of the snow, so are making a sharp turn in the entrance to the park and cutting in front of other traffic to go north on Ryan. They are basically making their own left turn lane and forcing their way into traffic that should have the right of way. The roads have been snowy and slick lately, and now we have to watch out for drivers like this!
