Description

Everyday, at least 2x per day, morning and afternoon rush hours, dangerous traffic backups occur and have resulted in Deadly Accidents from Traffic Backups because of poor exit design. Both East & West bound ramps of I-696 to South & North bound I-75 respectively get backed up in the through traffic lane while the actually ramp lane is void of cars. Cars forming lines into the exit lane at the design allowed last minute creates back ups in several through taffic lanes instead of in an exit ramp lanes. This creates dangerous lane blockages for through traffic and people jumping lanes which effects all four lanes of traffic especially during rush hours. This could be easily fixed with a simple re-painting of the lane lines to exit only lines and not allow merging into the exit lane from the righthand through traffic lane. People should not have to die from such a poor design layout. Maybe some lawyers should be told about this poor design.
