City of Oakland - set an example apart from your blood brother Berkeley and PLEASE eliminate like the rest of the functional cities that surround your borders like Alameda, San Leandro, Emeryville, and close neighbors like El Cerrito, Albany, Orinda and Moraga. Oakland has a much larger city budget than all of these cities and higher permit and penalty fees. Libby Schaff needs to be an effective mayor for it's tax payers, not its homeless free loaders. Doing otherwise, is the non-work of an extremely dysfunctional mayor.

She needs to go to Seattle and look at the encampment up there and get an idea for Oakland. Seattle set up a couple of encampments on lots that the city pays for, they pay waste manages for garbage pickup and the homeless pick a person to be the leader, plus they go and clean up the neighborhood . Oakland just needs to take ideas from this and see what works. It's the do nothing attitude of the Mayor that I don't get. Advocates need to stop the excuses
