I totally agree with Cleo about the excessive amount of traffic and difficulty of crossing for pedestrians--drivers routinely disregard pedestrians attempting to cross at crosswalks. Too bad Medford doesn't tap the huge source of revenue that these terrible driver scofflaws should be paying in fines.

Just ticketing drivers for not using their signals could generate hundreds of millions alone but even the officers don't bother using their "blinkahs."

Last thing we need is another light, change the entrance/exits.

That may be a better solution if one could be found. Hence a Traffic Study is really needed and the town or plaza owner/developer should be responsible for the costs due to the safety risks imposed on us. The main road running along the plaza is mostly one way which forces congestion at the corner near the bank. Potentially opening up a left turn in the meridian near the middle of the plaza (more towards the Pet Supply store/DSW) could alleviate the bottleneck instead of routing traffic at both far ends. The other thing that might help is a re-calibration in the timing of the lights/turn signals to match increased flow. Also, a simple solution like painting dashed lines to indicate turns in lanes would also increase safety.

It's a shame this dangerous and very obvious issue is still open. Is the town taking the approach of waiting for a tragedy to occur? Their inaction is bordering on negligence and if someone does get hurt, the town needs to be held responsible.

They would start following the rules if the cops around the area issued tickets like they did in other states. See how quickly people would be putting down their phones and using their signals. However, I often see the police texting and surfing their phones at traffic lights themselves not to mention not even using their own turn signals. Hard to get police to enforce the laws when they don't follow them either.

There needs to be an app for police cruisers that will automatically report if a cop uses their own turn signals when making a sharp turn and if they don't, they should get a ticket too.

You can at least vote for the issues. It's a shame that the city hasn't even "Acknowledged" this issue.
What scares me most about this intersection is the crosswalk that isn't at the light but between the gas station and the bank. It is so faded it's almost non-existent. Because it's just past the plaza entrance/exit it seems like a awful accident is bound to happen here. .

Faded crosswalks are all throughout Medford an you know what's the real shame? The city recently reprinted the lines and crosswalks in the Mayors neighborhood and all along her drive into city hall. But good luck finding any other repainted cross walks though. Skeptics should check this out themselves, drive around, tell me if you see anything repainted (excluding the mayor's hood and her route to work)

This street and the crosswalks down the Fellsway are all quite dangerous, even when they are painted. Cars do not stop or notice pedestrians a lot of the time.
