Entire neighborhood roadways are horrendous, but this is the entrance to the "M" section where it all begins. Several large pot holes at intersection of Manchester Lane and Memory Way causing vehicles to move out of the way of the pot holes and into the way of oncoming traffic. The entire neighborhood needs to be repaved, NOT just the pot holes filled in. Our kids can't roller skate or ride their bikes these roads are in such bad condition, and they have been for years with nothing being done. Sink holes around sewer grates never being repaired correctly. Time for Town to be penny wise and not pound foolish. Repave the roads.

2 years since this original post and still no work has been done on theses roads. The town did repave Hallock Meadow Drive which was in no way as bad as the "M" section roads. An e-mail was sent to John Rouse, Superintendent of Highways, and I was informed they had no plans to repave Manchester Lane. Manchester Lane is the main road in the "M" section leading to all other "M" section blocks. It is used as a cut through to get to Stony Brook University, gain access to Hallock Rd, and Stony Brook Rd. I'm amazed that no one has been seriously hurt riding their bikes or jogging. My 14 yr old son hit a pot hole on his bike, luckily he had his helmet on and is old enough to withstand some scrapes. If you live in the area please call the Superintendents office to complain about these conditions. I have spoken to others in the neighborhood about this and everyone agrees, but it's apparent nothing will be done unless we complain.

Anybody reading this that lives in the "M" section please start writing letters or sending e mails to complain. Things are just getting worse and it's embarrassing how bad this neighborhood is getting. What are we getting for the taxes we are paying. We deserve better and unfortunately have to demand it.
