I've done the correct thing and patiently sat through 3-4 traffic light cycles in the left lane. The only reason that area is congested is because rude drivers (in the right lane) fly by the patient drivers and try to wedge themselves into the left lane up by walgreens.

It's annoying to the majority of drivers who do the right thing at that intersection. We don't appreciate sitting there in the left lane for 5-10 mins while jerks go whizzing by in the right lane and jam up that whole road ahead of everyone else.

Whoever redesigned that section of hoosick street should be forced to direct traffic in front of Sunoco for his fulltime job... 40 hours a week! LOL!

I agree with "i'm a native, too". After waiting through so many lights, why should you just let people in that have illegally passed on the right. They are the ones causing the backups to start with. The lanes are set up wrong and encourage passing on the right to get ahead of those who have waited in line.

This is precisely the problem. The RIGHT lane ends. The RIGHT lame must merge with the left. If more people knew the rules of the road there would be less congestion.

also if it is the PROPER or right lane~then why are there 2 lanes? Is that lane only for the people who want to eat at Mr Subb's?
and how about the newest traffic nightmare, the person who stops, dead-stop in front of me on Hoosick Street yesterday, DESPITE the no left hand turn sign, DOES NOT bother to use a directional, and then proceeds to make the left hand turn because in two split seconds, he/she decided, "I think I will have a BIG MAC!"
HOOSICK STREET SUCKS FACE IT! share the road, we are all in this together ....

it is not about right or wrong, it is simple being courteous to other drivers!
we all have places to go
I do not "whiz" by anyone
don't be the "not~so~nice" (for lack of a "better" term) and SHARE the road
it literally will put you behind one minute in your life~
I did a delivery job for over a year, and way too many people drive like idiots
and are not courteous to other drivers

Troy does NOT know how to fix anything~all the politicians just worry about themselves, they forget that they work "for the people" and not just for themselves
Ms Nitz is correct in saying TROY as Usual! which is exactly why I moved out! unfortunately I still have to work and travel that road!

Troy native you sound like you're one of those drivers who run that right lane all the way to sunoco and then ride in the bicycle lane for a while until someone finally lets you merge because they think you're going to kill a pedestrian.

You said we should let you in and that it will only put us behind a minute in our lives. Those minutes add up day after day, week after week year after year.

Instead, why don't YOU just get in line in the left lane like everyone else and take that minute of your life waiting in traffic like all courteous drivers there do.
