Sir, parking in front of a hydrant to get even with the city is very dangerous. You'll put other's in grave danger should you decide to block a fire hydrant and the fire dept is unable to hook up. The police vehicle is NOT blocking that hydrant. As a retired fire fighter I can still hook up to that hydrant. I would seriously reconsider before you kill someone.

It was to prove a point. Isn't there a law stating that you can not park a certain distance from a fire hydrant or you will get a ticket. Then according to you this is acceptable behavior. You are wrong.

Let me explain something to you concerned citizen. "ALL" emergency vehicles and officers have radios. Should a call come in "ALL" emergency vehicles/officers are informed via radio. In other words, and, to make this short, all emergency responses are on the same page. So, any emergency vehicle who is parked near or in front of a hydrant will move it before any apparatus shows up. To answer your question, I am perfectly acceptable with this "behavior, practice" or what ever you want to label it.

Captain Glenn Cronin, is this correct policy. It is important that people on click fix understand that the law regarding fire hydrants. Is the law truly different for certain jobs.
