Description

The sidewalk (public) trash cans at this intersection (NW and SE corners) are inadequate for trash collection. They are always overflowing, which is an eyesore and lead to further litter on the ground around the cans--and along the sidewalk a block in any direction from either of these cans. This is a high traffic area (vehicles and pedestrians) in a historic district (and the Arts & Culture District). One of the cans is right in front of a popular restaurant. I regularly pick up litter on the block and know some of that would end up in the trash can if there was space for it. The collection frequency needs to be increased, or different collection bins installed. This is a public thoroughfare with inadequate receptacles for garbage. One of the trash cans is also broken. Perhaps solar compactors could be installed?
