You're saying there's 2 problems?

1. The metal guard/rail on the north side of the road needs to be repaired?
2. When westbound traffic tries to avoid the metal rail, they cross the center line, forcing eastbound traffic into the ditch because there's no shoulder?

I reported this problem July 2015 and nothing has been done. Huntsville needs to hire more police to catch speeders and distracted (texting) drivers. The force we have now is spread too thin.

YES I agree. on the eastbound side of Mt Gap Road especially (the direction of MT Gap headed towards Bailey Cove) there is little to NO shoulder AT ALL. Not hardly even enough pavement to draw the line on for the edge of the road. This begins at the big hill and sharp curve just before Stonemark subdivision and continues past Brandywine and ends around 707 Mt Gap Road. I wlll try to get some pictures today. THIS is a REAL problem.

ALSO people are CONSTANTLY driving 45-55 or more in this area of sharp curves with no police presence in this area to monitor it and several wrecks have already occurred in the area of 705-707 Mt Gap road.

Huntsville Connect Customer Service assigned this issue to Huntsville Police Department

They dont care about your safety. They have better places to find people to take money from other places in town.

This is not a Police Dept. Issue. This road needs to be fixed. The shoulder going up the mountain from the parkway is breaking off more and more. The cars and trucks coming down the mountain at the railing are trying to avoid how bad it is bent up and their coming over into the center lines and traffic. I am so surprised there hasn't been more wreaks and head-on collisions. Please someone look into this and try to get it fixed or at least acknowledge that you know something is bad wrong with this part of the road. It has been like this for many years and nothing done. We had the city water guys out working on the meter in front of out house and even they talked about how bad it is and nothing has been done. Is it going to take a serious accident before the city does something?

Huntsville, can we do something about the guard rail and the missing shoulder??
