"For some reason, as the new Publix on Belvedere was being built, the Florida Avenue street sign was removed and never replaced. For Jack the Bike Man, that sign was a benchmark that enabled Jack to provide directions to his shop. Jack has asked the mayor to replace the street sign and was told it would take weeks. Publix, too, offered little interest in helping Jack replace the sign. It sounds like a little thing but remember, most of the people who donate bikes and the folks who get them are not from the immediate area.
