  • 510 South Dixie Highway West Palm Beach, Florida - Downtown West Palm Beach
This tree grate was missed when they went around and cut away tree grates. This oak is doing very well but will be killed if the grate isn't removed ASAP as it's cutting into the bark.
Location: ~510 South Dixie Highway, East side of Dixie in front of PPG paints
  • 825 South Quadrille Boulevard West Palm Beach, Florida - Downtown West Palm Beach
Dead royal palm fell down, is blocking sidewalk.
800 block of South Quadrille, by the railroad tracks (across the street from the Tent Site.)
    Ganoderma Butt Rot strikes again
  • 470 South Quadrille Boulevard West Palm Beach, Florida - Downtown West Palm Beach
The pedestrian scale (shorter) streetlights are out along the West side of Quadrille. Not all of them, but maybe about half of them. All out near the Fern section but scattered throughout as well.
  • 302 Datura Street West Palm Beach, Florida - Downtown West Palm Beach
Sidewalk blocked with caution tape at SW corner of Olive and Datura. Demolition going on in building, but the way they haphazardly closed the sidewalk with just tape and no detours is obviously not to code.
  • 1516 South Dixie Highway WEST PALM BEACH, Florida - Mango Promenade

Two new marked crosswalks were added near the Norton crossing South Dixie. A few days later, the RRFB flashing beacons were disabled so they don't flash anymore, and the pedestrian crossing signs were then removed.

The crosswalks are still marked, but no one stops anymore. It's a DANGEROUS MESS!!!

"For some reason, as the new Publix on Belvedere was being built, the Florida Avenue street sign was removed and never replaced. For Jack the Bike Man, that sign was a benchmark that enabled Jack to provide directions to his shop. Jack has asked the mayor to replace the street sign and was told it would take weeks. Publix, too, offered little interest in helping Jack replace the sign. It sounds like a little thing but remember, most of the people who donate bikes and the folks who get them are not from the immediate area. So, please, send an email, make a phone call or sing it from the rooftops - JACK THE BIKE MAN NEEDS A SIGN!!! (for more info go to jackthebikeman.org)" - via FB

The trees in the buffer between the new Convention Center Garage and the townhomes in Grandview Heights were recently hat-racked, despite assurances not to touch these trees by the county, city, and Weitz construction. These were NOT branches that would interfere with the construction-side of the project, but included branches that reached into the neighborhood.
  • Route blocked Archived
1101 Florida Avenue West Palm Beach, Florida - West Palm Beach
Florida Ave bike/pedestrian access blocked due to convention center garage construction, despite EXPLICIT GUARANTEE from parties (including city) that it would remain open. Work was supposed to be phased in such a way as to not block access along this popular route.
  • 800-898 South Rosemary Avenue West Palm Beach, Florida - Downtown West Palm Beach

Cars get stuck in the large open area of asphalt at the Okeechobee and Rosemary intersection in the middle of the road. Once they are there, they don't know if they are clear to exit the intersection, and the get in the way of others trying to turn/cross the road.

  • 790 South Flagler Drive West Palm Beach, Florida - Downtown West Palm Beach
Pedestrian walkway lights out under bridge on the West Palm Beach waterfront section.
These lights are out under the "middle bridge" were first reported about 2 years ago and still hasn't been fixed. Homeless people have taken to sleeping here. What's the holdup?
  • 1101 Florida Avenue West Palm Beach, Florida - West Palm Beach
With the construction on the new convention center garage, a piece of roadway was torn up along the sidewalk ramp connecting Florida Ave through the townhomes ("Via Grandview"). The sidewalk ramp is no longer ADA compliant due to the piles of gravel at the bottom of it, and is a risk to people with disabilities or people on bicycles.

  • 202 South Olive Avenue West Palm Beach, Florida - Downtown West Palm Beach
This holly at the SW corner of Olive and Datura is growing into the tree grate. These tree grates need to be cut back or removed to prevent killing the street trees.

The walk/don't walk light is burnt out at the intersection of Lakeview and Olive., SW corner.
  • 2509 Okeechobee Boulevard West Palm Beach, Florida - Palm Beach Lakes
The new Burlington Coat Factory has ripped out all of the 10-15 year old Oak and Mahogany trees in their parking lot as well as their landscape buffer on Okeechobee. They seem to have replaced the ones on Okeechobee with small bushes (Buttonwoods, but topped so they can never be trees), and nothing yet for the parking lot trees. This is why tourists think West Palm looks like a terrifying high-crime area but think Gardens look nice. They have and enforce a well thought out landscaping ordinance...
  • 100-148 South Rosemary Avenue West Palm Beach, Florida - Downtown West Palm Beach
There is a tree missing from this tree-pit on Rosemary (east side, near Datura). In it's place is a Bicycle May Use Full Lane sign. While I'm all for bikes, we CAN'T tear down 10 years of investment in an Oak tree for a sign post...

    #SidewalksAreNotForParking

Great to see them working, but FEC keeps blocking the sidewalks on Quadrille outside of the work zones.
Due to the city having not resolved the speeding issues on Quadrille, people bicycling have been forced to bike on the sidewalks instead of the road here - but now, they're forced into oncoming traffic due to blocked sidewalks...

Are we trying to drive off all the young people???

  • Huguenot Memorial Bridge Richmond, VA 23235, USA - Richmond
As a tourist in town I was shocked by the condition of what should have been a safe biking facility - the Huguenot River Bridge shoulder was full of sand and gravel. Since cars go at high speed on the roadway, unexpected sand/gravel forces people biking into traffic. Striping and maintaining this properly would go a long way in making this area safe for people biking.
