Description

There is a left turn only lane for northbound traffic on Ashford-Dunwoody to turn onto Perimeter Center West. While there is an overhead sign, by the time a driver in the left lane sees it, there is not enough time and distance to merge to the right. Because Ashford-Dunwood is curved to the left at that point, a driver moving from the left only lane to the right lane is not easily seen by the approaching traffic in the right lane. The left only lane should be marked at least a block (or two) further back from where the lane becomes a left only lane to give the driver more warning that the left lane is a left only lane.
