I believe there should be no changes. The parking works for now but more parking options are needed. I again have more family coming up from Bridgeport after the holiday taking up our last rented bedroom so my rent is full but easier to afford. The free on street parking is best when first come-first serve.Feliz Navidad everyone.

Hey Hector, I live in the area and all we want is respect and consideration towards a balanced parking practice. If your parking is parallel to your building that is fine. No reason to have 8 cars per a 2 family structure. Oh yes BTW....the front lawn is usually off limits.

Now if anyone looks on Woodbridge ave there are still cars parked on both sides. I thought it was alternate for winter and where it clearly says no parking between signs there are always 3-4 cars there. A few weeks ago a bus s sideswiped. It's too narrow with all the cars parked in the travel lanes

Does not matter if if they change it to one side of the street parking. Ansonia doesn't really care about enforcing parking restrictions.

Same issue on Star street not only parked on wrong side but also parked to close to corner which makes it harder to safely turn the corner to go up sixth Street. I don't get why the plow drivers can't report to either their bios who can then send police out with a tow truck or public works should e able to contact police direct it not that hard to resolve as far as I'm concerned come with a tow truck. A few rows and a couple hundred bucks people will start to pay ATTN and follow parking rules. Personally I wish it would start one side all year it gives more space to drive on and if done correctly you can see better when pulling out of a side St to get to another. Only exceptions would be parking on boths sides if your having a picnic or party. The wording of how I put it may not be perfect but to me this is an issue worth looking into coming to an agree ment and put that in for Carter/ordinance revision but make sure whoever is assigned to enforce does their job.

Ansonia Police and Public Works are incredibly lax in enforcing parking laws, especially in snowy weather!! Beaver St becomes as wide as a walking trail!! Cars not shoveled out, parked out in the travel lanes, not moved for days on end...yet never ticketed or towed!! Makes for a lousy plowing job & a dangerous driving condition!! Don't the taxpayers deserve better than this??

Agree. Why no enforcement of parking laws in Ansonia . If enough tickets were issued for these issues then revenue for the city would go up, people might not want to continually pay , the extra revenue could go to so many things . If illegally parked get a ticket very simple no discrimination . Why should the rest of us have the experience getting run off the roads because cars are paled in travel lanes

The last 2 months there have been cars parked only on the one side. This has worked out much better. Why can this be permanent. Cars are not being run off the road and nobody has to stop to let others get thru. Except for one car who consistently parks where they are not supposed to it worked fine. Consider making it permanent

Back on feb 2 i wrote with basicly the same comlaint. At a moth or better later still havnt seena response from anyone in city or have i seen a cop. Now new neighbors instead of snow they dnt moove the garbage cans which ushes car further into street y cant anyone just do their job

I am sure they are FINE officers and well intended but the number of Police vehicles (most lovely newer SUVs) that I see driving around Ansonia on constant patrol of... something... somewhere boggles the mind.

I have lived many places, never have I see more police vehicles that seem to just be looking for something to do. I even saw an accident on Main where THREE officers had responded and it was ONE car with barely any damage.

Really? Three officers were free and needed to go check out this fender bender?

So why parking laws are not enforces escapes me. There is clearly "manpower".

And yet our alderman waste their time and come up with new ordinance increasing park violation fines. What's the point no one in government or law enforcement seems to care

Today was great Woodbridge. Cats on both sides. Utility truck with Bucket in the air and nobody directing cars.

yes today on woodbridge cars on both sides with the utility workers trying to direct traffic and get in their cars and leave while others try to get by , nobody directing traffic, everyone stopping to let others through as usual, not sure why this can not be no parking on the one side like so may other streets in Ansonia , it would make sense ,

So her we are all the cars parked on the other side of Woodbridge. We are now back to one lane. What will it take to get this a no parking on the one side permanently apparently it worked all winter

It happened today finally. All it took was two car crashes in front of my house and my daughters school bus to get hit for them to finally take action.

I am so glad it changed, thank you Ansonia , it does pay to continue to speak up,for something you believe will make a difference for a vast majority . Now hopefully drivers will be able to pass each other without nearly hitting each other. name calling and city bashing does not get anything accomplished , voicing your opinion in an educated and appropriate manner get s more people to hear your issue , it's all in the way you present it, if you continue to yell and scream chances are you will be ignored..this goes for any issue .. Instead of calling the city officials out, work to change what you want ........

I'm glad the signs are up People do not know that no parking ends means you park after the sign. Really. Also no parking does no mean 5 minute parking

There are MANY streets in Ansonia that are not wide enough for street parking such as Vine. Every home has a driveway that remains EMPTY because the residents would rather throw all the cars on the street that have to be bothered moving one if someone further up the driveway needs to exit.

So, not only is the entire street blocked when someone often and illegally parks on the left side (ignoring the "No Parking" signs) but all winter you can barely pass because the dozens of parked cars stop the city from being able to clear the street properly of snow. Parking ban? What parking ban? The city never enforces it.
