Another series of potholes endangering bicycles on Park Blvd.

There are a series of smaller potholes lining Park Blvd going downhill from Spruce, some between the lanes, one in the left lane.

With bicycles passing the 18 bus, potholes in any lane are a danger.

With the delay in the Park Blvd repaving, the city needs to spend more time patching the holes.

The City of Oakland Public Works Department has received this issue. It is registered as service request #618676. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

as a taxpayer I find the canned emails from public works offensive. No excuses. Do what must be done. Get support from higher ups, to cut non-essential expenses. Fix the potholes!

Thanks for the report. Due to the danger to cyclists, this issue is being submitted to Oakland as a "TOP 10" for immediate attention under an agreement with the Bike East Bay Hazard Elimination program.

There are definitely still a lot of potholes lining Park Boulevard below Spruce. I didn't notice any patches here, though there could be patches and still leave many more potholes in place.

Please specify where the holes were patched.

Do not close this request. There are still alot of potholes on Park Blvd. Do not continue to put this off. Park is dangerous, damages cars, and will cause accidents as people swerve to avoid going into the pothole and damaging their cars.

Don't close this until the potholes are fixed.

The only way to fully fix this section of Park Blvd is by repaving it. Park is a failed street.

With high speed traffic and buses, this street is a danger for cyclists.

If the city wants to declare that repaving is a few years off, the city can do that. But that is not a reason to close the ticket.

Oakland needs to stop neglecting Park Blvd, period. Between the potholes and crazy drivers, it's a dangerous street for all.

The good news is that Park Blvd is on the list of roads due to be repaved in the near future. However, the repaving has been postponed. It is on the plan to be repaved between Chatham and E 18th in the 5 year plan referenced above.

Park Blvd really needs to be fixed, from Mountain to MacArthur and then to downtown. It is highly trafficked -- used by thousand of cars, bikes and pedestrians each day. As a main thoroughfare it deserves more attention. Until the potholes are fixed people will continue to be injured, their cars injured and we will continue to complain. We do care that someday it will be fixed, except we want it fixed NOW!

The 5 year plan is for fixing Park below MacArthur. The section in the Glenview business district is cement, rather than asphalt. Cement repaving is not even on the 5 year plan.

Thanks for the multiple reports. The concrete pavement, and earlier patches (tied to OPW SR #s: 627942, 624980 & 618676) complicate the issue. Due to the danger to cyclists, this issue is being submitted to Oakland as a "TOP 10" for immediate attention under an agreement with the Bike East Bay Hazard Elimination program.
