Route 202 between Litchfield and Torrington has been treated like a race track for way too long now - especially those coming down the hill past the Toll Gate Inn. I think it's a game to them to see just how fast they can go - everyone from passenger cars to delivery vehicles to tractor trailers are doing this. There have been several accidents (some severe) in the area lately due to speeding and distracted driving! When will the state police and Torrington PD start stepping up patrols in the area? Think of the revenue they could generate by handing out speeding tickets and tickets for distracted driving! I witnessed one woman eating with a bowl in one hand and spoon in the other! What was she using to steer with? What if someone had suddenly pulled out of one of the other businesses in the area?
