There are a bunch of these in the area along 9 & old 146. I posted about them a few months ago, but so far, the owners have not been made to do anything about them.
Most of these are classified as Historic and can not be torn down, so the owners are in a real catch 22.
They can't find buyers for them, no one wants something they can't use, and they can't tear them down, town won't let them, so the only option is to let them decay.
I would personally love to see all of them flatened and made into productive retail space.
The house opposite The Pet Lodge on Route 9 is so close to the road with a collapsed roof. The house is actually leaning toward the street and if it collapses...it WILL be onto Route 9 and I hope that nobody is driving by when that happens.

I learned just last week that commercial property is not handled the same way as residential.
I don't know all the details, but from what I understand, there is no way to force the owners to make them safe or demolish them.
If I am wrong on this, someone please correct me.
Thanks
