Description
Every Wednesday, I go to the train station a bit before 12noon. When I drive on SOUTH FRONTAGE road, between York and College Street, as I pass the Child Study Center, I come upon many police cars parked ON SOUTH FRONTAGE, both sides of the street. Obviously, they have a regular meeting at the Child Study Center, which is laudable, but it is absolutely an obstacle course as 4 lanes are narrowed to 2 bc of the illegal cops' parking and it is dangerous. I have worked at the medical campus for over 20 years, doing laudable things too and have to come and go multiple times in a day and I know there is little parking. As a student with no money, I used to park many blocks away in the Hill and walk through the streets littered with crack and heroin bags. My car was regularly broken into, the radio ripped from the dash until I stopped replacing it, etc. How I would have loved to just park on SOUTH FRONTAGE Road! I now pay a significant amount to buy a parking space in a Yale-owned garage. Sometimes that means a 10-15 min walk each way from my garage to my meeting place, just for a one hour meeting. I can not just park my car on SOUTH FRONTAGE Road bc I do not want to walk a long distance. It is dangerous to park on SOUTH FRONTAGE, which is why neither my fellow Yale employees nor I can park there. Officers, even if it is a one hour meeting and you are on the job, please find LEGAL and SAFE parking places somewhere. The Air rights garage is directly across from the Child Study Center - this would give officers easy access to their vehicles in case of emergency (the ground level is largely vacant of cars).

Please extend this ban on parking on the sidewalks to the Yale work trucks and the delivery trucks that also park on the sidewalk outside 200 South Frontage Road making walking hazardous by blocking the sidewalk!

I was wondering about all of those squad cars. It looks like the City has on it's payroll the Yale Child Study. Whenever a child witnesses a violent crime i/e a shooting or a violent domestic the child will be referred here. It's a good program , the venerable Debra Hauser of the East Rock section in NH is an administrator. She was one of the folks driving around in a PD car.. We all like Debra , especially Mr.Desteffano who she gave quite a few thousand dollars to , well her and her wonderful Health n Wellness hubbie - Dr.Jack Hauser. .I still wonder what the need is for all of the cops to be there for ?
I know they all frequent the Medical School, and are needed at the Medical School warehouse and store quite frequently..I have a nice photo of the esteemed research docotor's - STEINS,from this vicinity

The Yale Child study has been monitoring and working with the NHPD stemming from way too many incidents of immaturity , brutality , unexplainable irrational behavior. It's an order of the court in conjunction with the city of new haven . It was supposed to cut down on lawsuits. The childish actions ,statements ,were / are horrific. They in turn will monitor mortgage scams, federal dollars being misappropriated, accountability in the city funded entity , bribes from PAC finance and unions - NOT.
Two misguided unattended miscreants doing what thou wilt

Union Station and around NHPS central office area is a ridiculous example of abuse of this authority.
Those that enforce are not above the law, in my opine.
I say TOW THEM!

illegal parkings block the traffic for many years between the Union Station and police headquarter. quite sometimes double parking. saw police cars passing by, no ticket, no towing.
how do you expect the rest will happen?

over the years the employees at the pd have lost more and more of the available parking, including a small parking lot across the street which was taken over by the city and turned into more parking for the train station
