Descrição
The traffic light sensor at the intersection of St Peter and Bridge Streets does not detect that there are cars on St Peter Street unless the car is pulled all the way up to the crosswalk. If a car is only a few feet back, the signal doesn't work properly, causing cars to wait for multiple light changes on Bridge Street without a green signal on St Peter Street.
Today, I sat behind 6 cars for almost 7 minutes because the first car in the line was not pulled forward far enough. This has happened a number of times over the past year. It wasn't until I got out of my car, walked up to the first car, knocked on his window and informed him that he had to move up, that the light actually changed. In many cases, I have seen the driver of the car become impatient and make an illegal left hand turn during the red light after waiting for an extended period of time. This is dangerous and likely to lead to an accident in the future.
Please put up a sign that tells people to pull all the way up TO THE CROSSWALK when waiting at the red light, or fix the signal. Thank you.
