Description
Wasn't the Warner Hardware building supposed to be residential condos and retail space? Didn't the locals there fight the renovation because they thought it would become a halfway house? That's what it is now. A sober house. This got a lot of press a few years ago because no one believed the builder. They were right. Drug addicts on Grand Avenue...a recipe for disaster, and not what the residents of Fairhaven were told.

He also owns the sober house on quinnipiac ave next to the shell gas station, spotless and beautiful. and another one on Townsend Ave,, also spotless. Lets not focus on people who are trying to help themselves and focus on how to make our neighborhood kid friendly and safe.
For the last 20 years there have been neighborhood mangement meetings with the police, they are for our area at Ross Woodward School every first Tues of the month. The police and other city agencies are there, 10 people come, I stopped because I know who to call and do my own resource
projects.

Wow! If we don't think drug addicts can be re-integrated into our community, what hope do we have? I walk by here at least once a day, and I never even see these guys, they're always behind closed doors. I'm much more worried about the drug addicts that do not seek treatment, the ones that we do see everyday and ignore.
I don't think this is a legitimate issue to be reported on this site, it sounds more like a neighbor's grudge. That being said, I do think having a viable retail space there would be useful. Perhaps something like a hardware store, coffee shop, bistro...? But, this isn't the place to figure that out.
