Going north on Belden Hill there is a stop sign to turn left on Drum Hill. There is also a warning sign that cautions that traffic from the left does no stop. The bigger problem is that traffic from the right also does not need to stop and it is harder to see traffic from the right coming. The sign should be updated to include both warnings.

This is another good example of difficult road sign management. Some local drivers heading off Drum Hill to Belden going south put on their signal lights to alert drivers going the other way which can help. The site lines however for cars waiting to turn onto Drum Hill is a short one for traffic from either direction, and there is not enough room on the Belden to Drum Hill intersection for more than 4 cars at a time, the rest create back up's on Belden.The road sign issues have not kept up with the increase in traffic on our back roads and unfortunatly there is more traffic to come.

I think the better solution is an "all way" stop. Any time there
has to be a sign telling drivers that the intersection has some confusing aspect, that tells you it is not designed properly!

Unfortunatly Wilton is filled with intersections that are confusing to say the least. The roads were built on cow and wagon paths so todays traffic was not an issue. Years ago someone came up with the idea of attaching a red and green reflector to a standard stop sign showing which intersection road had no stop sign. This was only known to some people in Wilton so it did nothing for out of town drivers and probably is not obvious to most people today. The other example of a 4 way intersection with a three way stop are Old Kings Highway, Borglum, and Old Boston. The all way stop sign is an excellent idea and should be looked into, especially when the sight lines are not conforming to the modern standards and posted speed limits.
