Thank you for the additional information. Our traffic engineers will inspect the signal system to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and the signal programing to ensure that it is consistent with the traffic management plan for the corridor during the AM peak.

Public Works crews have discovered a faulty connection from the signal cabinet to the loop in the road. This poor connection is forcing the signal to go through its complete signal cycle even if there are no cars present.

A work order has been entered to make the necessary repairs. In the interim, the longest an individual should wait at the signal is approximately 90 seconds.

One of our Traffic Engineers will be back on site tomorrow morning to measure the timing of the cycles.

Traffic Engineers monitored have monitored the intersection, measuring the maximum delay that an eastbound motorist who did not make it through the signal during the previous cycle would experience. That duration measured at 119 seconds, and our engineer was able to reduce to a maximum of 104 seconds. The duration would be shorter for motorists who are new arrivals at the signal.

The signal is properly coordinated with the surrounding traffic signals, and those signals are timed in accordance with the traffic management plan and functioning properly.
