I dont know about sewage smell, but I definitely pick up a trash dumpster smell.
Usually every morning different dumpster pass along Cherry Street & broadway from the areas mentioned above and dirty water from those dumpster leaks on the city streets.
Though not related, the downtown area sidewalks are all black-ishh and sticky. It might be time for a powerwash for all downtown sidewalks.

DPW is investigating the cause of the odor.

I've been smelling alot sewage lately myself it's coming mainly from what I believe is where they are working on the new silver line. You can smell it sometimes on a hot muggy day coming from east boston over the chelsea st bridge onto eastern ave. Not only has this new construction of the silver line caused bad odors it's also created a rat infestation on the surrounding streets.
