I see this was viewed by several but yet nothing gets done. How about spending some of our tax dollars to upgrade our park rather then spending it on some study for a pet project but in reality lining the pockets of your political cronies. How much could it cost to put in new walkways with proper drainage? What a joke
after all this time its still the same, every spring the city workers constantly drive a pick up truck around the walk way creating mud ruts just in time for little league season.
Over 1300 days and nothing gets done, the walkway around the park should be widened or use narrower maintenance vehicles so there is not a constant mud rut on each side of the walkway. Also a simple gutter downspout fix will prevent more extensive damage to the stone wall of the concession building which has been like that for almost 1300 days. A tree fell over 2 years ago and its still laying there. Isnt all this stuff the reason we pay taxes? Maybe our councilwoman can help?
Finally after all this time they have put in a new walkway. Only problem is they made it the same width as the original and the same city work truck keeps driving on it leaving muddy ruts just like before. And no provision was made for drainage despite being on low ground next to an embankment. Still a muddy mess just with new blacktop. Talk about half assed. And the pool remains shuttered with no work done in over 2 years and the gutter downspouts are still missing further eroding the masonary walls of the park building. I'm sure our tax dollars paid a premium to erect that structure and a simple fix could have been done over 7 years ago! What a disfunctional government!
They also removed the fence and trees that separated the park from the street and put rocks in it's place, right next to the baseball diamond. No barrier to prevent a child from running into the street. Whoever thought of removing this barrier should be held accountable as it is an obvious safety hazzard.
