Description
There are stores on either side of Douw along Sixth Ave. and the customers of these stores throw the trash everywhere. City trash cans would be a start - in front of each store and the police station.
Walking patrol should also start issuing tickets to litterers. People would think twice about tossing a chip bag on the street if they were
fined for it!
It shouldn't be up to a few concerned citizens to clean up everyone else's mess.

I also agree with Sophie - it would really be great for the stores to take responsibility for their customer's trash.
But short of that - city trash cans are the best I can hope for. There aren't any on our block currently, so it would be a start!

I would love for people to not toss trash behind them as they walk down the street. If the walking patrols would start ticketing for littering, some might think twice about just tossing packaging on the street after being fined...
But a street trashcan would at least make it easier for me to clean up. I wouldn't have to bring all that trash into my home until garbage day if I could use city owned trash cans on the street.
