Thanks for reporting an issue to Narberth SeeClickFix. We remind you to dial 911 if the issue you are reporting is an emergency. Issues reported here will be responded to during normal hours of business M-F 8:00 to 4:00.
The Borough created this issue to facilitate communication about the Tennis Court development. Two buildings with two units each were approved on the site. The contractor is currently working to hook up utilities in the street. Because of the location of the mains, Haverford Ave needs to be closed in order to perform the work, necessitating a detour through Oak and Anthwyn Roads. We will update this issue with work progress reports and invite your comments and information.
The contractor encountered multiple issues that delayed the installation of underground utilities. Fortunately as of the week of August 3rd, the sewer and stormwater connections had been completed. The next step in the project include the restoration of a concrete apron and sidewalk during the week of August 17-21 and then base course paving on the site. The on site paving will not interrupt traffic and is necessary to keep dust and dirt to a minimum and facilitate the construction of building foundations. The developer expects traffic to be diverted but the road to remain open during the pouring of the new curb and sidewalk.
The construction of the four twins will take roughly 4 months. The contractor is diffident about finishing the job completely before the end of the year and is anticipating further minor work to be completed on site in Spring 2016 prior to sale of the new units. The on-site paving mentioned in the previous post will be completed the week of August 17-21.
Once the twin units are substantially completed, Aqua America will be on site to make four water connections. This work will necessitate a closure of Haverford Avenue for two days. No exact date has been set because the work will be done once the twins are almost complete and it is too early to tell when that date will be.
The contractor, Rockwell Homes, has agreed to send us bi weekly updates of construction progress. They will have an on site project manager that you can contact directly. If there is an immediate hazard please contact Narberth Borough at 610-664-2840. If you observe a dangerous situation don't hesitate to contact 911.
From the Contractor_ Last week we were able to complete the site work and move on to building construction. We poured our footers late last week so we are officially underway on the construction of the twin homes. I would expect foundation work to continue for the next 2 weeks. We are planning on starting rough framing on the homes on 9/28. We will reopen this issue as more information is available.
