The City of Oakland Public Works Department has received this issue. It is registered as service request #596188. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

I've lived in this area 12 years and that block has looked that way the entire time. You have to drive on the wrong side of the street to not destroy your vehicle. Fix it please and all of 19th Ave (from 14th Ave down to 21st Ave) now which has been destroyed and badly patched back up by the city and East Bay mud digging and doing subpar refills/street repairs. Use permanent fill and not the temporary fill you all keep patching with. Fill and pound in, then fill and pound in, rinse repeat until the hole is filled, then place a sign so it can sit, cool, and set into place before cars are allowed to drive over it. It's stupid to spend resources and time filling huge craters poorly, incorrectly, and then not let the molten fill cool and set so that vehicles weighing tons don't ride over it and squish it right back out of the hole. Common sense people use it. We all learned this in kindergarten playing with playdough and shapes. But then if we did things right the first time we wouldn't get all this overtime pay we've all seen on the news recently would we? Sad other cities don't look this way.
