This house has garbage in the back and he front (inflatable pool in front). It is an overall eye sore. This house is also a continual offender. With inside furniture and piles of garbage continually being reported.
The now defunct pool has been left in front of the house and seems to be trash as well. Please let the property owner know this is the gateway to our beautiful street and they are bringing down the whole street by being irresponsible with their garbage.
Jen, while I understand your desire to keep your street tiddy, I think these residents have the right to maintain their abode in which ever way they please- so long as the rights of others aren't being infringed. One man's trash is another man's pool.
I am not sure what tiddy means? I would ask Mr 802 for you to review the article here: https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/CodeEnforcement/Solid-Waste for BTV ordinances. The pool is trash-it is unusable-it has caused damage to the front fence and has been sitting in the front yard for over a week.
Jen, how do you know the pool is unusable.
Isn't any empty pool unusable? If the Beijing Olympic pool is empty and therefore unusable, is it trash as well? As for the fence. The fence is fixed, and are you implying that a deflated pool would break a fence. That Madame, is preposterous.
Thank you to BurlingtonDad for being the one individual in this area who apparently has some sympathy and solicitude. As a current sublette from this address, I am surprised that some of my nearby residents have not taken the time to express their concerns to us face to face but rather take up these problems on a website. To merely explain, we have not had a garbage basin and have been trying with all of our efforts to get one. Upon this morning we did receive a basin and I therefore hope that this discussion no longer continues into the future. The trash issue is now closed. I hope that the neighborly aggression issue can be resolved in a more sophisticated and civilized manner. Rather than taking it up on a website that I previously had no idea about, lets try and be a little old fashion and simply speak face to face because, quite frankly, I am sick and tired of being targeted without my knowledge and through a third party.
Kid on the corner, Try to be more considerate of your neighbors. Be mature and responsible and clean up after your mess-when your done with your pool put it away. That's what I tell my kids-I should not have to tell you. Why should I have to come knock on your door to tell you this? It's your landlords job and yours to live respectfully in this neighborhood. That's all we ask.
Jen, I was trying to explain the garbage situation that you were so displeased with. Please do not try and put this all on the pool. It seems that you are complaining about whatever you can when it comes to my household and have now resorted to solely complaining about the deflated pool because we have fixed the other problems you found so hurendous. As for being considerate of your neighbors, wouldn't you find it more considerate to approach them in person. Rather than knocking on the door to reach out to us you have actually waisted more time in fact by going through this website to get your problems fixed. Not only that, you have actually walked by our house to take pictures of it rather than simply knocking on our door to speak to us. Maybe you aren't the most social or would like to avoid confrontation but I think you would find that we are all actually quite understanding and respectful individuals. This harassment of reports is not respectful in my personal opinion, especially when they don't pan out to be a problem according to the town or our landlord. Try and remember that the definition of 'neighborly' is to be a good neighbor, especially helpful, friendly, or kind. I will be sure to now get the pool thing handled (finally realizing it is a problem to you) and do my neighborly part. Please refrain from harassing us through this website because I did not find any of this helpful or kind. If you can do that, I think your neighborly characteristic will be up to par.
This application is here for exactly for these issues. I did not report this. Others are showing frustration with the unkempt nature of the house.
I did not report these issues (pool was reported last issue week #1805164 and garbage more recently) I simply added on to another neighbor(s) reports. Lower Brookes is a neighborly community and are happy to have you as a part of it.
Feel free to call a lower Brookes meeting and the residents will be happy to discuss the displeasure in seeing garbage piling up. And how we could work together to educate you on how to be neighborly.
Thanks for understanding and working towards making our neighborhood a nice place to live.
Jen, I find your targeting of these kids disturbing. Last week I drove by the property in question, with children in tow, and saw a group of youths enjoying a pool in the hot weather. I don't see the problem here. My kids loved it as well. And I think having safe fun is a good example to set. You however, are determined to take out your personally vendett against this street. It's not neighborly to just report your neighbors because you hold a grudge and, looking at your history of reports, thats clearly what you have done with a couple selective houses. These poor kids are likely pressed for cash and saddled with loans. Your attempts to get them fined or evicted are vindictive, cruel, and also hold little basis. Even after this one kid apologizes and explains, you remain bullish and refuse to even talk to them. That seems awful narrow minded and also totally rude. It's no way to solve your problems as I imagine your past interactions
I want to first of all thank Burlington Dad for the patience that I do not have. I think that we're all in conclusion that Jen's reaction was overstated to say the least. And hats off to the youngster who stepped up and owned responsibility for the pool - kids got a bright future ahead of him.
This application is used to report issues. I was not rude nor did I bully-but BTVDad YOU are bullying. Which is super easy as an anonymous commenter...
I have stated the facts and asked that these student renters clean up their property. And if the residence is in violation they can as can their landlord be ticketed eventually.
As mentioned, I did not report these issues and am not the only one involved in reporting them. Feel free to continue commenting.
Jen, if you would love to stroll by you can see that the yard is now cleaned up. See how simple and easy that was after I was informed. Try not to be so plugged in on the internet and on reporting your neighbors if you're truly trying to humanize the neighborhood. Clearly issues cannot be resolved that quickly through this website and this only leads to fines and tension. Thanks to BTVdad and 802patriot for relieving some of the stress and anxiety that this has brought to me and my roommates.
