The Department of Public Utilities is reporting that D. Rivers assessed this SR on 7/28/2015 could not make contact with citizen at 6501 Buckhill Rd; no answer at the door. Found: Cavitation in the grass strip at the crossroad culvert. Plywood had be place over the hole perhaps by a citizen. Drainage culvert has eroded causing soil to loosen and eroded creating cavity on the surface. Immediate action: Joseph Barbour, Storm Water Supervisor and Berry Wright, Storm Water Engineer are assessing the request today 7/29/2015 to determine the best fix for this location; possible upgraded to infrastructure. Mr. Barbour will secure the cavitation with a steel plate or back-fill the cavity for safety. Solution: Replace the crossroad culvert approximately 36" x 60'. Res tored the concrete header wall if necessary or insert new culvert into existing header wall. Shrubby, cobblestone and mulch will need to be restored at this location. Homeowner at 6500 Buckhill Rd will need to notified prior to work being completed as all or most of the landscape appears to be affected the homeowner. All areas affected by this work should be restored in ordinance with the City of Richmond recommendation and standards. Note: There is conflicts with other utilities at the proposed excavation.
