5 Parking Spots Impede Traffic Flow: 5 parking spots on Rt. 202 between Sussex/Speedwell merge & Flagler St. should be eliminated to improve traffic flow. Use parking behind the buildings.

If you drive into Morristown from Sussex or Speedwell, PLEASE SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS. The fact that these parking spaces exist where 2 or 3 lanes of traffic, PLUS St. Margaret's parking lot, PLUS the Firehouse, is not in the best interest of the public or Morristown. Pedestrians crossing Speedwell at Flagler are in much greater risk than if there were no parking. Impeding traffic with parking spaces is not "flow control."

I agree. They are very unfriendly to traffic flow when we should be encouraging people to shop in Morristown. They are a safety issue also.

I could not agree more. It makes no sense to have those 5 parking places impead those trying to enter Morristown. Traffic is backed-up on Speedwell and Sussex every morning. Those trying to turn onto Flagler cause additional blockages that would be helped enormously if there were only those two lanes open. Come-on, traffic engineers, do the right thing.

Yes having those parking spaces in front of Rago Brothers, the uniform shop, etc is truly a dangerous situation. people crossing the street, a lot of times without even looking to see if there are any cars coming. It is fortunate that, as far as i am aware, no one has gotten seriously hurt there. As there is parking behind the shops and across the street near the firehouse, these five spaces on the street should be eliminated.

While they are at it how about addressing the unrestricted flow of pedestrians at the crosswalk at Flagler. Can't that crosswalk be relocated to one of the lights either at Sussex/Speedwell or Early St. It is a tragedy waiting to happen.
