Case Closed. Case Completed. resolved: The city of San Francisco DOES NOT treat trees with pesticides. Insects are a sign of a healthy ecosystem! We certainly will not remove a tree because of insects! We need insects in the environment, and we especially needs trees! Trees are protected in SF. A good hosing down will knock aphids from the tree. Otherwise, they will eventually leave on their own. Aphids do not survive unless they are on plant they feed from. They certainly can cause no harm to humans.
