OK, PWD! If you don't have any intention of cleaning up the mess on both sides of 42nd, at least stop lying about having done it! The shattered auto glass, trash and dirt still cover the sidewalks and the gutters on both sides of the street.

The sidewalks and gutters on both sides of 42nd, between MLK and 41st Street, are full of trash, plant debris, soil and shattered auto glass. It's time to get your brooms out, PWD!
"City of Oakland Public Works Department couldn't even be bothered to pretend it wasn't lying about this issue on 09/03/2015, service request # 601172." Get out the brooms!

Grace,
As the originator of this post, I'm as interested as anyone in keeping the neighborhood clean. But I also think the staff who spend their days cleaning junk off our streets have a never-ending tough job, and they're generally pretty diligent at picking up big stuff in a timely manner. I don't think your negative, sarcastic comments do any good.
And while it would be nice for City staff to sweep the sidewalks under the underpass weekly, I just don't think that's realistic with current resources. Fortunately, if you want to help out you can join the City's Adopt-A-Spot program and adopt this section of street to keep clean. I've done this before and the city will provide trash bags, litter grabbers, gloves, paint, and brushes (for graffiti). It's a lot of work, but your neighbors will be grateful!
Ok, you can go ahead and keep up the nasty sarcastic comments under multiple guest names and see if that motivates the city to do what you want. Or I'm happy to lend you a broom if you want to be more constructive. Which do you think would get the underpass cleaner?
