It is very important to make patch repairs as smooth as glass. A bump is just as destructive as a pothole. Some NJ DOT projects use a Quick Crete Cement (see ARTICLES AND ADVERTISEMENTS IN "ROADS AND BRIDGES") that leaves smooth concrete in one hour that lasts and lasts. They also use an overnight asphalt layer that is quick and durable. Also used are spray in asphalt. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!!! A POTHOLE REPAIR BUMP IS AS BAD AS A POTHOLE.
