This mattress has been under the highway for weeks with the spray painted body of a "cop," and on my way to First Friday I noticed someone wrote "RAPE CLOSET" in what might be bodily fluids or excrement. It's terrifying to walk past as a young woman who lives very close by. Can you help with this?

This is my first time using SCF and your responses have been encouraging. Thanks!
It's on Telegraph between 36th St and 34th St, under 580, on the same side as Walgreen's. The address for the Walgreen's is 3400 Telegraph Ave, Oakland, CA 94609.

The city of Oakland did NOT fix this as they claimed. I was walking home with friends last night and saw that the scary mattress had just been tossed over the chain-link fence.
This really upset my friend, who jumped the fence, carried the mattress across the street, and threw it over the fence at the highway police station.
Maybe now the city will find a better place for it.

The mattress sat in the parking lot for a day or two, but it's gone now. Hopefully for good?
Just want to say I'm pretty disappointed in how this was (not) handled. The whole POINT is that government employees are PAID and TRAINED to remove materials that are hazardous and threatening and blocking the sidewalk. The public shouldn't have to (literally) take matters into their own hands.
Also, why lie about the situation being resolved when it wasn't? You're not fooling anyone, Oakland, and you're making us lose faith. :(
