The Luc Lounge(hip hop/strip club) formerly the Bodi Club has moved to 2414 Paula st which is located approx.75 yards from our neighborhood. Reading archived comments from residents that had to put up with this club when it was located downtown makes me wonder how the city can let a club with so many violations including a couple of homicides move in so close to a neighborhood of kids, working families, home owners etc. We,as a neighborhood already have history with the one nightclub located on Paula st.The el tucanazo bar. History as in,loud music til 2.30 am,gun shots, screaming and yelling patrons of the bar. 2 city council meetings,3 court dates, several citations and yet we still hear the El tucanazo music every night. Now...The Luc Lounge moves in a few doors down and open for business 10.00pm to 6.00 am 7 days a week . That means no sleep for me or some of my neighbors. An officer was at my house just lastnite and told me that the Luc lounge has already had 55 call complaintsl as of June 1st. 55 calls and the city let's this go on? When are the city officials going to start looking out for the residents and home owners of Raleigh and stop putting these law breaking club owners ahead of them? The loud music til 6.00am,gun shots, yelling patrons, loud music from the cars they drive, etc, the entire issue has to be a addressed for the health and well being of the citizens of Raleigh.

RALEIGH NIGHTCLUB WORKER ARRESTED AGAIN FOR ILLEGAL ALCOHOL
Police said they arrested 40-year-old Randall Rohm on Saturday for selling alcohol at the Luc Lounge after the nightclub's permit was revoked.
This is the second time in less than two months that he has been arrested. In late July, police and ALE officers raided the Luc Lounge and arrested Rohm and six other people.
Read more about the July bust.
Early Sunday morning, 22-year-old Keyona Verdell was hit and killed after allegedly leaving the Luc Lounge.
Read more about her death here.
On July 13 the club's permits were cancelled by the N.C. ABC Commission after an investigation of illegal sales and ownership. The Luc Lounge stayed open and kept selling alcohol, according to authorities.

If a business owners sees this information and then choose to accept the small amounts of money for parking, then they obviously don't care about this neighborhood and they will not ever get my business.
Is there someone in the neighborhood who would help me assembly names of supporters for this?

When you call 911 and talk to dispatch (Justin Cole) you want to feel as though they are on your side/there for you rather than make you feel as though you are a nuisance/bother.
It's 430am, why can't dispatch have some compassion for me and our neighborhood?
Captain Klein, please, please address these issues.
City Council, please address their ongoing noise ordinances, you shut them down when they were
located on West Street, please tell our neighborhood why you allowed them to reopen in the Forest Acres/Five Points Area.

I know this is an old issue, but the story for Club Bodi on West street was only temporarily on hold after the liquor licence was revoked. The property is now known as Club Venu and operates as a BYOB after-hours nightclub from 1:30 am "until," which means they close whenever they feel like it. Several residential neighborhoods a full 0.2 mile away from the club can hear the music in their bedrooms (with white noise machines!) until 6:00 am. We feel your pain.
The city needs to re-evaluate its noise ordinance rules for businesses that repeatedly negatively impact residents. If a business repeatedly violates the ordinance more than a certain number of times with absolute disdain for the community, they should not be allowed to operate any similar type of business in the city, period.

Read this story... http://raleighpublicrecord.org/news/2016/04/07/hawg-pen-wrestles/
They were operating for months without a permit. I was told by Revenue Dept they originally applied July 9th but didn't complete the process. Once I called the police to report them they began intimidating me and have threatened to sue me. In a letter they sent me they (foolishly) admit that the cost of meeting safety inspection was too great. So instead they operated and had customers in a building that didn't meet the city's safety and electrical standards. After over 10 warnings, only a video recording compelled the police department to actually write them a citation.
If you want to know the real details get in touch with me. On this or any club. Thanks for your support.

This neighborhood is in Council District E and in the Five Points CAC. In addition to calling the RDP, here are some other ways you can get involved.
That is Bonner Gaylord's district. Bonner hosts a District E Neighborhood Alliance meeting on the 4th Thursday of every month. The next one is this Thursday 4/28 from 7-8 p.m. at Glen Eden Pilot Park on Glen Eden Drive. https://www.facebook.com/RaleighDENA
This month's topic is stormwater, but at the start of each meeting, everyone gets a chance to speak and say why they are there and what their interests are.
Here are the names of all City Council members. In addition to contacting Bonner, you can reach out to the at-large council members, Russ Stephenson and Mary-Ann Baldwin.
To email the entire council: CityCouncilMembers@raleighnc.gov
Individual emails are here:
https://www.raleighnc.gov/government/content/BoardsCommissions/Articles/CityCouncil.html
Remind them that part of the City's mission statement is: We lead to develop an improved neighborhood quality of life and standard of living for all our citizens.
I think the former Law & Public Safety Committee is now called the Safe, Vibrant & Healthy Neighborhoods Committee. Its members are listed below:
Meeting Schedule: 4:00 p.m. fourth Tuesday
Meeting Location: Council Chamber, Raleigh Municipal Building, 222 W. Hargett Street
Members: Russ Stephenson - Chair, Mary-Ann Baldwin, Corey Branch, David Cox
The Five Points CAC is chaired by Carole Meyre. This issue was discussed briefly by RPD at a meeting earlier this winter. I suggest you contact Carole and ask her to put this on the agenda for the next meeting.
