How ridiculous and self serving, Deb! This is your 2nd comment to protect your area another is concerned about, too. I agree "DESCRIPTION!"

If you don't want to read the comments, then don't. This is your 2nd comment also. I am NOT a resident of Cottontown or Elmwood Park, but due to the location of my residence, I have to drive thru them. THEY want to control who can drive thru THEIR neighborhood. THEY(Elmwood Park) don't want the traffic light so they can cut down on the traffic. THEY(Cottontown) put the island and the fountain there for the same reasons. It is, however, difficult to see which side of the fence you are on. Elmwood, Cottontown or the rest of us.

I totally agree with you! It is also a convenience for them to shut off traffic to keep everyone else out. You'd think these were HOA'S that monthly charges are made by home owners. These are public streets and no one cares about the rest of us having to travel through! I had to laugh 3 years ago when someone decided to place a sign on River Drive that said if they wanted to be part of an HOA all they had to do to join, besides pay their monthly fees, was to put up some type of wooden picket fence! maybe 10 people did that. It use to be if a home was for sale on River Drive they sold right away. It's not that way anymore as they sit unsold or become rentals. I absolutely get disgusted when I find myself on Cottontown streets only to be made to turn right going back to Bull Street! They have 2 of those. I don't see how anyone can rent their homes out or sell them when one can't get to them. It's like a maze throughout Cottontown. Elmwood has too many speed bumps which is ridiculous. All those homes in those areas were so run down for years. Then the people with money to invest came in and bought them dirt cheap for much less than $50,000. Then the homes were remodeled to look like mansions for workers who no longer wanted a long drive home after they had made the exodus to Irmo and Lake Murray. It was now going to be a town of cultural activities! The same thing was done to the parking lot at Finley Park above the fountain area and bench swings. Part of the parking was taken for a few of these very expensive homes. Little did these new owners know they'd have the homeless living there in the park sleeping at night and roaming around! They bought into the noise of activities in the park constantly as well selling them or foreclosing them.

Please comment on my issues about "MIA Broad River Road Bridge" and the other titles dealing with this for almost 5 years and false opening dates told but not fulfilled promises. They had the wrong names as to report to. WIS-TV has no idea about this but are listed without their permission! We need VOTES, COMMENTS, and PICTURES. PLEASE! TY! :-)

Debi....what's this all going to look like and drive in these areas around Bull Street and Cottontown once the old state hospital grounds turns into another WORSE traffic zone just like USC football and the fair at traffic time. Why do we need a baseball field and the name "Savannah Sandnats? Why didn't the people in Snubtown fight about this but had to block or snub us out with their fountain and right turn only going onto busy Bull Street? Who's running that show and brought Greenville into it? I thought Columbia was the capital of South Carolina autonomous in making our own decisions!
