The intersection is missing 7 traffic light visors and counting. ill placed traffic signal lights, makes Rochelle Ave a dangerous road cross. When the sun is bright you can't tell when the light turns green(or for that matter any color). I don't think replacing the visor will help due to the traffic Signal is located at the far right and off on an angle. Used visor can be found on the internet for $7.50 . There are 7 missing visors now, I'm sure more are going to fall.

Another electrical hazard. Who does Rochelle Park's electrical work? This picture shows a metal conduit jumper that runs between the traffic light's timing switch box and the stanchion on south side of Terrace Ave. you can see the black electrical wire. The adapter pulled out from the stanchion due to the adapter missing (or broken) nut. Why is the conduit above ground? Doesn't seem to be a correct method for running electrical wiring. Think the Township will fix it? So many kids from the two near by schools. Maybe when a kid gets electrocuted Rochelle Park will do something

Rochelle Park has repainted the street markings but still has two stop lines for Rochelle Ave north direction; its ridiculous as the additional stop line causes confusion. Also the added stop line and the timing of the traffic (yellow) light does not allow enough time to pass through the intersection. Another note is the signs (crosswalk) placed in the middle of the street are not permitted as per NJ State Law. I can see the purpose but when a child or another School Guard gets struck by a car, it could place liability on the tax payers of Rochelle Park due the the Township failing to properly maintain an illegal traffic light.

The Town did finally replace the missing "Stop Here on Red" (a while back). What the town did was take down a Local Rotary sign and put a Stop here on Red Sign in the Rotary sign's place, not the best visible location for a warning sign. Even with the warning Stop Here on Red sign, with the ill placed 2nd Stop Line, it is not possible to brake safely. The added 52 feet of the 2nd Stop line and the 3 second yellow duration of the yellow light does not allow a vehicle to make it through the intersection before light changes to Red.

This problem will not be fixed until Rochelle Park, upgrades a 40 year old traffic signal. Rochelle Park needs to follow NJ DOT regulations. This is a potentially dangerous intersection to both motorist and pedestrians.

This illegal traffic light is a money maker for the Township of Rochelle Park. The ill-advised additional stop line adds 52 feet to the total length of the intersection, making it IMPOSSIBLE to drive your car safely through the intersection.When the traffic light turn to Yellow for only 3 seconds,then turns RED; you may (as I did) get pulled over by a cop that makes over $160,000 per year in salary and benefits, to issue you a ticket that will get you fined, receive 2 points and possibly a car insurance premium increases and all for a few bucks for the Township coffers.
When approaching the intersection at the road rated 30mph / 44 feet per second speed, (no children present, as there are 2 schools near by); given your vehicle's approximation and the needed/required braking distance to stop safely, means for fact, you will not make it through the intersection safely, when you should have as per devised NJDOT engineering design for traffic signaled intersections. When there is a fatality and civil suit, due to the negligence of this illegally erected traffic light, as per NJDOT and for the matter Township ordinances, then maybe the Township of Rochelle Park will do something for fix this dangerous intersection, after its to late and the taxpayers are left holding the bag.

I have to check the the caution (amber light) timing. The timing was set at 3 seconds. The 3 second timing makes int impossible to make it through the intersection before the traffic signal turns red. There are so many reasons why this Traffic light is unwarranted but if the town would only not make it a trap for issuing running a Stop and ticket trap and making the timing of the amber signal to a appropriate length of time to allow safe braking once a vehicle enter into the dilemma zone; I would end / remove my complaint.

I check the timing soon. if the amber (yellow light) is not set properly, I will be making a Township Council meeting to voice some facts and make the public aware of this important matter.

I am done, moved to FL. I still believe overall the Traffic / Signal light is dangerously ill-conceived but with good intentions. NJDOT has guidelines which encompass safety as its primary reasoning behind every one of it rules for Signal traffic lights, which this particular Stop light bucks many NJDOT rules and therefore is still a liability to the taxpayer of Rochelle Park if someone is injured due to this ill-conceived light.
